The fire was reported around 6:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Ocean Front Walk near the boardwalk.

Investigators said the fire was believed to have started from an outdoor fire at a homeless encampment that extended into a one-story commercial building. The fire became heavily involved and threatened two nearby structures.

No injuries have been reported.

From the National Weather Service Los Angeles:

Surf building again today, then peaking tonight into Wed. STAY SAFE - stay off rocks, jetties, stay back from the water's edge, and never turn your back to the ocean. Strong Rip Currents on most beaches!

Sony TV is developing TV adaptation of the 2005 skateboarding film “Lords of Dogtown” , which was an adaption of the 2001 documentary "Dogtown and Z-Boys".

Described as a one-hour drama ensemble-drama, the Lords of Dogtown TV show is "set in the 1970's skateboarding scene in southern California and centers on a hell-raising teenage girl growing up in the foster care system. She falls in with a crowd of skaters who idolize the famed Zephyr Skateboard Team."

Going off that info from the press release, seems the story will not actually be about Zephyr skaters, it will be about some random skaters.

This show is being developed and written by some lady from Georgia, named Kat Candler, because who else would Hollywood get to write a TV show about California and skateboarding than a non-skater from Georgia who says she is a Texan.

Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the original movie in 2005, will slap her name on as an executive producer for the project, and the guy who made the The Shield will also be an executive producer. As of right now, seems none of the real Dogtown or Z-boys are invovle with this. And no one has been cast for any parts yet.

Seven Adams, son of Jay Adams, appears pissed off about this and is calling for a boycott of this show. Check out this screenshot from his most recent Instagram Story:

Seven's not having it.

The show is going to be for Amazon‘s free streaming service, IMDb TV. It's still in the early development stage, so there's not even a release date yet.

A Los Angeles man has been identified as the victim in a fatal surfing accident in Ventura last weekend.

Reported by Jeremy Childs of the Ventura County Star, the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Saturday that Dr. Jehangeer Sunderji, 44, of Los Angeles, died as a result of terminal drowning and atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.

Sunderji suffered from heart disease and had a cardiac event while he was out surfing.

Dr. Christopher Young, Ventura County's chief medical examiner ruled the death an accident.

Lifeguards responded to a call of an unresponsive adult in the water. Sunderji had been taken out of the water and was being given CPR by a bystander. Lifeguards took over the incident and continued providing CPR to Sunderji until paramedics arrived on scene. He was ultimately transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Dena Bellman, a spokesperson for California State Parks, reports the incident took place between the pier and Surfer's Point

Dr. Jehangeer Sunderji was a psychiatrist at his practice, Mind Body Medicine, in Santa Monica.

It was very windy last night. One of the big palm trees in front of 425 Grand fell into the street.

"Today I went to Venice Beach and I saw a big layer of thick fog rolling in. You could not even see the ocean from the beach, that’s how foggy it was. You could also barely see the palm trees, but it was a beautiful day to take some unusual cool pictures."
