Venice Gallerie interviews the Seamstress of Venice, a former lawyer from Mexico now working as a seamstress on the Venice Boardwalk.



City of Malibu partnered w/LA County Beaches & Harbors, LA County Sheriff’s Homeless Outreach Services Team & the City’s Outreach Team to remove an encampment from Zuma Creek for public safety. The people there were given notice & offered services.


According to Officer Cervantes with the Los Angeles Police Department media relations unit, a black man between the ages of 30 and 40 was killed in Venice early Friday morning. It was reported at 12:55 a.m. in the 2400 block of Lincoln Boulevard. Police found a man suffering from injuries to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating it as a homicide.Investigators are working to determine if the killing was gang-related or if the victim or suspects may have been homeless.

On Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 at approximately. 8:33 PM , Los Angeles County Fire units responded to a report of boat fire at 2201 Basin A in Marina Del Rey. The yacht is approximately 100 feet long. 2 passengers exited the boat without injuries. Reports say the fire was fueled by ammunition and fireworks that were being hauled on the yacht


The Santa Monica Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that took place in the early hours of September 6th in the 1100 Block of Alley 6.

We are requesting assistance from the community in obtaining surveillance footage. Specifically, we are seeking:
• Exterior building surveillance video
• Dash cam footage or recordings from vehicles equipped with recording capabilities, such as Tesla, Rivian, etc.

The footage of interest is from September 6, 2024, between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., within the area bounded by Ocean Avenue to Lincoln Boulevard, and from Washington Avenue to Wilshire Boulevard.

Your cooperation can provide crucial support to this investigation.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) plans to reduce Topanga Canyon to one lane with alternating traffic so they can work on the damge done by the bug landslide that happened in March.

The lane closures are at postmile 1.8 and will be from 9PM - 6AM, for next 2 weeks.

Crews will be installing anchors on the steep hillside this week. These anchors will allow crews to tether themselves to them, so they secure straw wattles on the bare slope to prevent soil erosion during the upcoming rainy season.

3.7 earthquake at 4:22 AM, 3.75 miles north of Malibu in the Santa Monica Mountains, followed by a 2.8 aftershock at 7:05 AM.

Fortunately, no injuries or damage reported. Beware of rocks in the road on Malibu Cyn, Kanan & other canyons.
