Black Surfers Collective had to postpone the annual Nick Gabaldón Day celebration to Oct. 9. But in the meantime, they're getting together June 19 for an informal, relaxing beach day at his home break. (Inkwell, Tower 20)

Gathering from 9 a.m. to noon to laugh, talk story, catch a few waves and celebrate fellowship

Saturday June 12, 2021 11:39am - A woman who was just released from LA County Jail the day before is now living in a tent on the boardwalk and was involved in a fight in the middle of the boardwalk on a busy Saturday. pic.twitter.com/seNlhA4hxB

LAPD responded to the scene, but didn’t speak with either woman. One woman skated away down the boardwalk. The woman just released from jail yelled at the officers from afar. After LAPD left, she spent several hours standing on the boardwalk and yelling at passersby. pic.twitter.com/yRTkruOAjb
