ch. Many people asked me how Venice Beach looks now. I went to the Venice Beach library, inside the park there is a big homeless encampment with lots of tents in it."One year ago, @LACoSheriff came to Venice Beach to assist area residents and those currently unhoused. The @LASDHOST , headed by Lt. Deedrick, went straight to work, partnering with local organizations, @LAPDHQ @themensgroomer , @LAHomeless , and @LACDMH to help house those pic.twitter.com/SN0nY79Yyx

Vending has been a special part of the Santa Monica experience for decades. Joe Cavin, Santa Monica's Fire Marshal, discusses how vending can be done safely and effectively in the City of Santa Monica. The program is designed to be accessible, and many areas of the City are available to permitted vendors, including roaming sales on the beach and most of Palisades Park. In select public spaces, including the Santa Monica Pier, vending is not permitted given the fire risk and limited accessibility of this narrow, wooden structure.
