"It's no secret that Malibu (Surfrider Beach) gets crowded but do days like this make it worth it?
I headed to Malibu on Friday July 1st, 2022 for the holiday weekend swell.
One of the key factors that makes Malibu so crowded is the wave. It's basically a fun wave for every type of surfer making it accessible to everyone. It's a non-discriminating wave.

"Santa Monica Police Officers respond to an alleged knife wielding man at the Sea Castle apartments on Thursday, July 7, 2022. According to Santa Monica Police Public Information Officer Lieutenant R. Flores, apartment manager of the Sea Castle observed a resident that appeared under influence and attempting to enter a unit not belonging to him. The manager informed him he could not enter that unit which caused the resident to retrieve a switchblade knife and threaten the manager with it. The male resident then returned into his own unit when SMPD Officers arrived."

"Babies Lives Matter" / Proud Boys / Pro-Life / Anti-Abortion Rally & March was held in Santa Monica on Saturday.













On July 5th at ~8:15 PM, SMPD Officers were dispatched to a call of 2 subjects down behind the public restrooms in Palisades Park at Ocean/California.

Upon arrival officers located 2 males next to an encampment.

One male was immediately transported to a local hospital, and the second one was pronounced deceased on scene.

There are no signs of foul play. Officers did locate drug paraphernalia. At this time this death is being investigated as an overdose


Thomas Aaron Brothers was identified as a suspect in numerous incidents of vandalism in the Malibu area over a three-day period. The suspect used a pickaxe to damage numerous vehicles, residential front doors, and cameras in Malibu. Multiple residents were victimized.

On July 8, 2022, Malibu/Lost Hills deputies followed up on a tip received from a victim regarding the whereabouts of the suspect. The suspect was seen at approximately 0717 hours, exiting an MTA bus at Ocean Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard in the city of Santa Monica. Deputies, along with Santa Monica Police Department officers, responded and canvassed the area. The suspect was not initially located.

Several hours later, deputies returned to Santa Monica to search for the suspect. They located the suspect near the California Incline. The suspect fled deputies to avoid capture. Deputies located the suspect on Santa Monica Beach in a restroom.

The suspect was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
