Cycotic Youth's free concert at Venice Beach

A man running on the beach in Venice suffers a heart attack and collapses under the pier. A bodyboarder, Mike "OG Punx" Ventura sees him , rushes over, and finds the man unresponsive. He alerts the lifeguard who runs down and starts CPR on the man.

The current horrible conditions of the public restrooms at the Venice Beach Pier over the course of 3 days.

Opening day of the redesigned Original Venice Beach Skate Park. Skaters hitting the new jump ramp feature late in the day.

The Skatepark Foudation rebuilt the poorly designed original skate park and this is opening day.

The annual car show hosted by The Westside Classics Car Club returns to Venice Beach for Labor Day! Food, drinks, flowers, local vendors, and live music make for a fun family-friendly day for enthusiasts and casual fans of classic cars and lowriders.

On August 25, the city of Malibu announced that it is offering free NOAA Weather Radio Training. Malibu and the Los Angeles County Fire Department will conduct it on Monday, August 31. The event will take place at Malibu City Hall located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road.

On August 23, 2026, at approximately 7:49 p.m., Santa Monica Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting near the Pier ramp.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a male victim in his 20s was approached by a group of individuals and an altercation occurred during an attempted robbery. During the altercation, one individual fired a weapon, striking the victim in the leg.

Officers provided emergency medical aid, and the victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

A juvenile suspect was taken into custody later that evening in connection with the incident. Investigators are working to determine the juvenile’s role in the attempted robbery and shooting. Detectives continue working to identify and locate the remaining individuals involved.
