A 7.5-mile ride from Marina del Rey to the Playa del Rey. The ride rolls through shopping boulevards, residential streets and scenic views.

We’re back at the beautiful Marina del Rey for the Pedal to the Playa Community Ride. Join us for this ride by the coast on an easy, no-drop pace starting at Venice & Abbot Kinney Station. The 7.5-mile round trip will take us from a vibrant shopping boulevard through welcoming residential neighborhoods and protected bike lanes on the waterfront.

Designed to be supportive and beginner-friendly, this ride is perfect for new riders, families, first-time city bike users, or anyone looking for a practical and enjoyable way to access coastal destinations and waterfront paths.

Throughout the ride, we’ll practice safe biking practices and connect with fellow riders. We'll highlight Metro Bike as a reliable option to enjoying scenic coastal bikeways, public spaces, and natural areas along the Westside shoreline.

Santa Monica Police Department officials confirmed the April 10 arrest of Ty Michael Baze, a 54-year-old captain and pastor for the Santa Monica Salvation Army, on felony charges involving the possession of child sexual abuse material

The Salvation Army has placed Baze on administrative leave pending the final results of the criminal investigation


Santa Monica Police announced that they are prepared to handle a huge protest planned for this Sunday, April 19th. A “Los Angeles Stands for Iran” demonstration is scheduled at 2 p.m. at the Third Street Promenade.

The Santa Monica Police Department is aware of a planned march on Sunday, April 19th on the 3rd Street Promenade in the downtown area.

We respect and support the community’s right to peacefully assemble and express their views. Our role is to help ensure the event remains safe for everyone.

Officers will be in the area to manage traffic, maintain access for businesses and emergency services, and support a safe environment for participants, residents, and visitors. Criminal behavior will not be tolerated and will result in enforcement action.

We're pleased to announce that just eighteen months after the devastation that consumed our beautiful Pacific Palisades community, the Palisades 4th of July is back with a parade through the Historic Village and a spectacular evening event at Palisades High School. This is the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation, and no one celebrates like Palisadians!

Your Palisades Americanism Parade Association all-volunteer board is planning a great day for our community. Please stay tuned for more information about how you may enter a float, march in a band, drive a classic car, or just walk in unity to show your pride of the Pacific Palisades. More good news.
