This Week's Surf Forecast

WNW Swell and SSW Swell Combo

New SSW swell trends up through middle/late week, modest NW swell continues.

The recent storm system passes by mostly to the north of us on Tuesday; bringing a slight chance for showers followed by breezy onshore W winds in the afternoon. Light+ onshore S/SW winds prevail in the early morning (strongest through OC/SD). Winds trend onshore from the SW/W by the late morning.

Wednesday, April 17th: 3-4'+ at Southern Hemi standouts in OC, otherwise 2-3'. Light S/SE wind in AM hours, WSW wind in PM. Modest to fun-zone new SSW swell (200-180) will build further Wednesday as mid-period NW swell-mix holds. That provides surf around waist high at the well exposed breaks (Ventura, North LA, select parts of South Bay, parts of OC and SD), while standouts get up to chest high on sets. Southern Hemi focal points will pull in shoulder high sets during favorable tides.

Winds slowly improve for many spots with a light S/SE wind in the morning. SB/Ven/LA should be fairly clean. Winds trend SW-West through the day, topping out at light+/moderate levels.
