Homeless Man Who Suckered Punched Elderly Venice Beach Performer Arrested

On Tuesday, June 8th, 2021, a coordinated effort from detectives and officers of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Area led to the arrest of a violent felony battery Suspect involved in a Venice beach incident that was captured on video.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.

According to LAPD, "Macio Harger, a 45-year-old resident of Los Angeles, is homeless and was residing in one of the homeless encampments on the Venice beach boardwalk close to where the incident took place. Harger was arrested for 243(d) PC, “Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury” and awaiting filing recommendations by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. Detectives are currently in the process of determining a motive for the attack."

The part about him being a "resident of Los Angeles" does not appear to be correct though, as some evidence is online that claims he is from Illinois and came out to LA only about a year or two ago.

This is the same homeless man seen acting violent in several previos videos such as the one below:

He also robbed the Vans Store in Santa Monica back in January: "On January 19, 2021 at approximately 2:50 a.m." a previous police report states, "Officers observed the front Plexiglass window of the Van store located near the 400 block of Broadway was broken. Officers observed that the broken area was large enough for someone to make entry. After patrolling the area, officers encountered Macio Harger, riding a bicycle and carrying a long board with a Vans price tag attached to the wheel. Mr. Harger had been observed earlier in the evening in the area of Vans where multiple shoe boxes were stacked in the doorway holding a large black trash bag. Mr. Harger was detained pending the burglary investigation. A witness provided officers with a black trash bag filled with merchandise and identified Mr. Harger as having tossed it over the fence which Mr. Harger confessed to. A subsequent search of Mr. Harger’s belongings uncovered screwdrivers, bolt cutters, pliers and a saw blade. Mr. Harger was booked for 466 PC – Possession of Burglary Tools and 459 PC Burglary. He was issued a citation and released from custody."

So no doubt, he will most likely be released again and back on the Venice Boardwalk by tomorrow.
