4 Women Killed in PCH Crash in Malibu

All lanes of PCH are OPEN in Malibu following a closure at Rambla Vista starting Tuesday night for investigation of a multiple fatality collision.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the crash happened Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. when the suspect reportedly lost control of his westbound dark gray four-door BMW and slammed into three parked cars before ricocheting and fatally striking the victims, who officials said were standing on the side of the road. Four women died at the scene. Two other people were taken to hospitals in unknown condition.

Pepperdine University released a statement saying they have reason to believe the four individuals killed were Seaver College Students. Seaver is the liberal arts school at Pepperdine.

“We continue to cooperate with law enforcement and care for loved ones affected by this tragic event. As we await further details from the investigation, we pray for our entire community. The University will provide updates as we receive additional information.”

The driver was identified as Malibu resident Fraser Bohm, 22. Bohm was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, but he has been released from custody, L.A. County Sheriff's Capt. Jennifer Seetoo said during a press conference.
