Broadway lovers, this one’s for you. Bring your own blanket, pack a picnic, and join us on Saturday, September 27 for West Side Story, broadcast live from the LA Opera stage to the Santa Monica Pier. This iconic romance comes to life with a slew of famous songs, including Somewhere, I Feel Pretty, Tonight, and more.
Treat yourself to a free broadcast of Bernstein and Sondheim’s beloved classic, plus community performances and special giveaways—you’ll even get up close and personal with a baby shark courtesy of Heal the Bay Aquarium.

Countless fans know and love Leonard Bernstein’s landmark work with songs like “America,” “Somewhere,” and “I Feel Pretty”, but few have seen it like this. Originally conceived as an opera, we’re paying tribute to Bernstein’s impact with the grand operatic treatment.
