S Hemi/NW Swell Mix; Dora Forms off Mexico

Overlapping swells from the SW-SSW will maintain modest to fun zone surf for better summertime exposures throughout this week. There will also be some smaller NW windswell energy blending in to help cross things up at the openly exposed combo beach-breaks. Typical summer wind/weather pattern prevails with the best conditions in the early mornings. Also, Hurricane Dora has formed off Mexico, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on that to see if it will deliver any swell to California.

There's a new controllable live high-definition webcam at Venice Beach, it looks over the boardwalk, but can be controlled to look at and zoom in to the Breakwater. Check it out at http://www.venicebeachlivecam.tv/.

Fading, But Still Fun Size Surf

Mix of holding and fading Southern Hemi swell and NW swell through the weekend. Overall, the trend will be towards dropping wave heights heading into early next week, but there will still be plenty of fun waves out there to be found. Winds are generally onshore, but early mornings should offer a window of clean surf for most areas, before winds pick up and create some surface bump/texture in the afternoons
