The Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect responsible for an attempted murder of two tourists.

On Saturday, July 30, 2022, the suspect, the suspect’s friend and two United Kingdom tourists were involved in a verbal argument outside a heavily populated bar in the 20 block of Windward Avenue. The argument escalated into a physical fight and then turned violent when the suspect chased after both tourists with a gun. As the tourists ran away, the suspect shot the tourists and then fled on foot from the scene. Both victims sustained significant wounds from the gunshots and were hospitalized for their injuries. The shooting was captured on video.

Brandon Manyo Dixon has been identified as the person involved in the attempted murder of the United Kingdom victims. Dixon should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call 911 for immediate assistance.

From LeveyAngeles:

on Nov. 14, a horrific fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Kanan Dume Road.

The as-yet-unidentified driver of a stolen 2017 Lexus NX SUV blasted down Kanan towards Pacific Coast Highway at excessive speed. Upon entering the T-intersection, he did not slow down, and made no attempt to turn left or right to avoid the 30-foot-high cliff straight ahead. He hit a pickup traveling west on PCH, causing it to flip over and land on top of a motorcycle waiting at the light. The Lexus then smashed head-on into the cliff and exploded into a fireball. All of this happened in about three seconds.

The motorcyclist and the driver of the pickup survived the fiery crash, but the stolen Lexus driver did not.

Motorcyclist Stephen Levey was airlifted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where he remained for 11 days before being released to his home in Hollywood. He has no memory of the collision, but later learned that the fire and sheriff department personnel on the scene were doubtful he was going to make it.

Around 3:00 PM on Tuesday, police closed off the the area near an apartment building on the 2500 block of Kansas in Santa Monica, because of reports of a "domestic issue involving a man who was armed with a gun".

The man who was apparently having a mental breakdown, fired off 2 shots before the police were able to take him into custody. No one sustianed any injuries and the police have not made any statement about the shooting other than Lieutenant Flores stating he had shot "a round or toe".

Another officer told a witness that "the perp had fired at officers".

Here's what happened according to the witness:

"I live almost right across the street and heard it all go down. There was an armed individual who was having what sounded like a psychotic episode. There was some kind of verbal altercation around 2:45. It just have escalated because around 3:00, there was another loud exchange and I heard a man yell, “drop the gun” (or something like that) and then there were two shots fired.

Shortly thereafter there was a back and forth between the belligerent man and a female voice yelling, “Michael, no one wants to hurt you. They just want to help you,” etc.

About 5-10 minutes later, after a lot more yelling and glass breaking, there was a rush of police/SWAT into the apartment building and someone yelled, “take him into custody!”

The whole block has been locked down ever since.

The Sergeant who escorted my son and me back to our building after I picked my son up from school said, when I asked if everyone was ok, that the perp had fired at officers and was taken for medical evaluation. I took that to mean that there were no other injuries. I didn’t see any ambulances, so I assume there were no injuries."
