In response to last weekend's Proud Boys Anti-Abortion March in Santa Monica, there is a Defend Santa Monica Planned Parenthood Rally planned for this Saturday.

From the organizers: "You might have heard that the Proud Boys and other far right jerkos managed to shut down the Santa Monica Planned Parenthood last Saturday, by harassing staff and patients. DUI Checkpoint from 7 PM to 12 AM at Venice Boulevard and Walgrove Avenue

The DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.

Commander Pasos, Commanding Officer of Traffic Group said, “Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk. Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”

The Los Angeles Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

A group of six black males and females looted the Maxfield store on Tuesday July 12 at 2 p.m. The high end luxury store is located in the Malibu Lunberyard Shopping Center.

Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station reports the looters stole almost $500,000 worth of merchandise. No one was injuried in the robbery. The suspects wore masks and hoodies, and took off in 2 separate vehicles, that no one got the plate numbers of.

This is just one of several similar felony robberies in the LASD jurisdiction. Investigators do not know if this is the same group.
