This Week In Malibu: Episode 3, from Grant Hilling:

"This week in Malibu we take a look at a very grey day in May."

This is an update to Arbor Security Guard Almost Killed By Homeless Man:

Tariq “T” Ali is the security guard at Arbor Collective - a local skateboard and snowboard shop in Venice CA. He is also the first person most people are greeted by when they come into the store.

On June 3rd, 2021, T was asking a homeless man to vacate the store’s parking lot, when the man then broke a bottle over T’s head and proceeded to stab him multiple times with the broken bottle. He is currently in the hospital.

T is a beloved member of the Venice community. Even kids from the nearby school know him, and say hi to him.

As a community, we would like to show our love and support.

Please consider giving what you can to assist T in a speedy recovery.

This fundraiser was created by friends of T. All proceeds will go to Tariq "T" Ali directly.

From AsaWolfeSkates:

Video from Friday, June 6th at Malibu.

“The bottle cut very close to arteries on his head and wrist. He could very easily have died. 100 staples in his head and 150 stitches around wrist / hand. He will have the scars of this attack for rest of his life”

On Thursday night, Arbor's beloved security gaurd "T" asked a drunk homeless man to leave the Arbor parking lot to which the homeless man responded by hitting "T" on the head with a bottle, then stabbing him multiple times in the head and torso with the broken bottle.

Arbor's Bob Carlson said "There was blood everywhere."

Arbor staff was able to followed the homelesss man until the police arrived and arrested him. Which is surprising, as we have first hand witnessed the LAPD Pacific Division allow homeless criminals to attack people then let them go free and pretty much tell the victimns to "just aviod these people" (viewers of Shacked Instagram stories may remember the video where the lazy-ass cop tells the bleeding victimn that).

Carlson, along with pretty much everyone, is angry at what Venice has turned into, "We are on our own. We are alone in dealing with violent people who can kill you and there is nobody who is going to save you. If that had been one of my employees in our parking lot--that person would be dead"

The sign outside of Arbor says it all:

"Surfing by Jack Van Wagoner plus a full section of all the women surfers out at first point!"

Mike, aka German in Venice, vlogs about daily life in Venice Beach, and the nearby communities.

"Today, I would like to show you what Venice Beach looks like on a Sunday afternoon. It felt like there has been lots of people on Venice Beach Boardwalk, even though there are no Europeans traveling in the United States. It was a sunny day, there were lots of people enjoying walking around Venice Beach, watching shows, rollerskating, skateboarding, or visiting the drum circle. Venice Beach looks very much alive, it almost gives you a normal feeling again."

"Today, I went to Venice Beach to show you the updates for the homeless encampment. They had a new fire engine dedicated to Venice Beach. Fast response unit in case there’s a fire on the boardwalk. The basketball courts and handball courts are open again. They removed graffiti and planted new grass. They trying to clean up Venice Beach. They are still all the homeless encampments in Venice, hopefully soon they can move into housing."

Hyped up swell by Surflie featuring Joel Tudor, Tosh Tudor, Steve Sawyer, Devon Howard and more. Video by Sealaka.

It's 11PM on Friday night and there are 25+ surfers in the water at Malibu.

The "La Bomba Swell" swell hype is working.

That huge 2-story homeless shed in Marina Del Rey has finally been tore down.

It was built by this guy from the Camino Island area north of Seattle, who came to Los Angeles to be a musician, after he failed to make it as one in Nashville. His name is Sean Tyrrell.

Sean was not homeless when he first arrived in Venice, he was staying at the Pod Share, but apparently he got into some arguements because of his music and got kicked out.

“From there I slept in my car three or four nights just around the area looking for places I could pitch a tent. I finally settled on this place." Sean told an interviewer. "Back then, there were other people living here on the sidewalk but not jammed like in other parts of the city. The people that were here got paid to leave. I was offered $100 but I’d already made good progress with my building. I’m legally here and I've obviously spent a lot of time investing in the structure. The offer was an insult.”

So for almost a year, Sean has been building up his shed and battling his residents of the area. He claims they send people to harm him and damage his property. “There’s a few people in the neighborhood who were paying people to attack me for no reason."

L.A.F.D. claimed his "artist studio" to be a definite fire hazard. And after months and months of complaints to the city, it was finally tore down.

Full interview with this guy from March can be read here on Facebook.

From Venice Beach Boardwalk, another video showing the current state of the boardwalk.

"Homeless encampments have take over the world famous Venice Beach Boardwalk. Fights are an all day every day occurrence now. This once beautiful tourist destination is being rapidly destroyed by the failed policies of local politicians."
