Combo Swells Coming

Forecast from Surflies: Combination of Swells -- Bouts of Onshore Winds Friday and Saturday, October 4th-5th: 3-4’ surf at better combo exposures, plus sets at the best of those breaks.

"Prime season for combo swell in California, with this week delivering more Southern Hemisphere swell and NW swell. Generally a good time for conditions as well, but the next few days are a little dicey in that department."

New Weekend Swell

Friday and Saturday, October 4th-5th: 3-4’ surf at better combo exposures, plus sets at the best of those breaks.

Morning winds mainly light. SSW swell (200-180) eases, keeping spots with a good southerly view in North LA. NW swell-mix pulses up with knee-waist high+ waves at better winter exposures. Best combo exposed breaks see shoulder high+ peaks/sets around the more favorable tides. High tide around 5′ bogs most areas down during the middle of the day. Winds are light/variable to light offshore in the morning, becoming light+ to moderate from the W in the afternoon.

Tony Alva Story Screening

The Tony Alva Story will be featured at the Other Venice Film Festival on Oct. 5th.

The Tony Alva Story
61-years-old Alva, the oldest professional, skateboarder in the world, is considered by many to be the godfather of modern day skateboarding. Alva’s brand of aggression and bravado in the 70’s set the stage for the way skateboarding would be forever defined.

Vans’ The Tony Alva Story chronicles T.A.’s humble beginnings on the streets of Santa Monica to his rise to superstardom as part of the legendary Z-Boys, his inevitable drug-induced implosion and his ultimate rise from the ashes to accept his rightful place as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations of skateboarders the world over.

Also they will be showing:
