Fantastic response by @LAPDPacific and @LAFDwest who were able to calm the man down, get the cuffs on him, and load him into an ambulance. The man even thanked them for helping him. Let’s hope he gets the help he needs and isn’t back out here tomorrow doing the same thing again. pic.twitter.com/ppWwg6aYs6

Venice Boardwalk Homeless Moved Out For Tree Trimming
Mike, aka German in Venice, vlogs about daily life in Venice Beach, and the nearby communities.
"Today, the city removed all the homeless people from the side of the boardwalk to the sand area to make sure nobody gets hurt while they cut the palm trees. I went with the German camera team to show them around. They wanted to do a story about the homeless encampments on Venice Beach. It was a beautiful day, and after all the tree trimming, it looked very nice."

Gun Found In Abandoned BMW On Main St
On May 26, 2021 Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) officers observed a vehicle with its hazard lights flashing and playing loud music blocking a traffic lane near the 100 block of Olympic Drive, thus creating a hazard for eastbound traffic. Upon further inspection, officers discovered the vehicle had its windows rolled down and was unoccupied. In plain view was an alcoholic beverage and a 9mm Beretta 92FS firearm.
Shortly after their initial observation, a male subject quickly approached the officers and explain he was in the Starbucks at Main and Olympic and only briefly left the vehicle unattended. The subject proceeded to state he did not have proper identification and subsequently provided officers with a false name.
The subject was later identified as Robert Ambriz-Garcia, a 22-year-old male from Los Angeles. He was arrested and booked for providing false identification, leaving a handgun unsecured in an unattended vehicle and transporting an unsecured firearm in a vehicle.

Venice Beach Is Alive
Mike, aka German in Venice, vlogs about daily life in Venice Beach, and the nearby communities.
"Today, I would like to show you what Venice Beach looks like on a Sunday afternoon. It felt like there has been lots of people on Venice Beach Boardwalk, even though there are no Europeans traveling in the United States. It was a sunny day, there were lots of people enjoying walking around Venice Beach, watching shows, rollerskating, skateboarding, or visiting the drum circle. Venice Beach looks very much alive, it almost gives you a normal feeling again."

Pacific Park Reflects On 25 years At The Santa Monica Pier
All this month, Pacific Park is remembering the highlights from a quarter-century of fun on the Pier during a month-long anniversary commemoration. Follow Pacific Park on Twitter and Facebook to see archival photos and learn about the modern history of the Park. From the grand opening and reopening of the Pacific Wheel to world-records and a long-since closed mini-golf course, you can learn and share your memories and reflections of visiting the Park.
2021 is a momentous year for Pacific Park. In addition to celebrating 25 years since first opening, there is more celebration to share with the return of ride operations following an unprecedented 13-month closure of the amusement park due to COVID-19. Ride operations resumed on April 2, 2021, as a result of collaboration on safety guidelines with local and state officials based on the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Pacific Park strives to navigate the situation safely with the wellbeing of everyone associated with the Park including hundreds of employees being welcomed back to the Pier.
Although things are working a little differently on the Pier with rules about where to stand in line and how many guests can be on the rides, the entire Pacific Park team is grateful for the support of City of Santa Monica officials and appreciates everyone’s efforts to return open access to the Pier. Building on its 25-year operation and presence on the Santa Monica Pier, Pacific Park will continue to operate with the health and safety of guests and employees at the forefront of planning and operations, which will be guided by health experts and industry standards.
For more information about this month-long celebration, head on over to Twitter or Facebook and hit follow. A new post with a reflection from each year of the Park’s operation will be posted every day starting with 2021 and ending with 1996 – the first year Pacific Park opened on the Pier. You can also post your memories and share your favorite moments from the Pier. Just use the hashtag #PacificPark!
