Venice Heritage Museum

At 3.4 square miles, Venice, California is a small town with an impossibly large footprint on the world. For more than 100 years, Venice has been a multi-cultural mecca for creativity, diversity, and personal expression.

However, in this time of rapid change, the people, stories, and events that have made Venice, California a global destination are at risk of being forgotten.

The Venice Heritage Museum is an opportunity to preserve and celebrate over a century's worth of stories, collections, and archives from one of America’s most legendary cities—Venice, California.

Our museum campus will serve as a common ground and a town square for all of Venice's residents and the millions of tourists who visit each year, located in Venice-of-America Centennial Park just west of Abbot Kinney Blvd and adjacent to the Venice-Abbot Kinney Memorial Branch Library along the gateway to Venice.

Help bring the first-ever museum for Venice to life! Support our campaign to fund the first phase of the project by May 18, 2021: www.tinyurl.com/veniceheritage

Santa Monica Arm Robbery And Assault Suspects Arrested

On March 28, 2021 at about 10:53 PM, Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) officers were dispatched to the area of the 1700 block of Ocean Ave to investigate a report of an Armed Robbery. Officers met with a couple who explained that they were riding scooters on Ocean Ave., when they were accosted by three males. During their encounter, one of the males lifted his shirt and displayed what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband. Two of the suspects began to physically assault the male victim and at one point one of the suspects snatched the cellphone from the female victim and threw it to the ground, preventing her from calling for help.
