Here's some of the result of the Surf Relik Modern & Classic Longboard World Tour at First Point, Malibu.

Here's video footage from this day in Malibu, filmed by Edgar Salas Avila.

It's a go! June 24 & 25 have been called as the run dates for the first stop of the Surf Relik Modern & Classic Longboard World Tour at First Point, Malibu. Head over to Malibu for a one-of-a-kind experience where art, culture and the world’s best longboard surfers intertwine.

Back in 2004 while on Ozzfest, Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe kept posting photos of himself attempting to surf. When DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara saw them, he reached out and said they needed to ride the waves together, and they've been doing so ever since. Revolver recently joined the two singers in Malibu, California, to get an inside look at their love of surfing and how that love has bonded them together. "Surfing is a lifestyle," says Fafara, whose family started SunCult, a surfing board, wax and apparel brand. "It's the one thing that's kept me grounded," he adds. Blythe agrees. "Surfing is more about opening up myself to my surroundings and staying in the moment. There's not really much more of a visceral way to connect with the planet than riding waves."

It's official: The waiting period of the Surf Relik First Point, Malibu event has begun! The time frame between now and June 25 allows the event to take advantage of the best possible windows for commencing 2018’s Relik Modern + Classic Longboard World Tour.

Surf Relik has been keeping a close eye on two storms in the South Pacific that will send some classic summer lines to the famed right hander. Stay tuned here for updates and which days the events are running!

Investigators with the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office served search warrants Thursday morning at the home and business of Malibu Mayor Pro Tem Jefferson Wagner, according to authorities. Investigators were also serving search warrants at Wagner’s business at Zuma Jay’s Surf Shop in Malibu. Details of the investigation are not known.

Malibu's surf star Laird Hamilton offers recipes of global cuisine that get people excited to eat whole foods, healthy carbs and good fats in his "Fuel Up" cookbook.

"It's about mood, sleep, all these ways food impacts us, and also the hardest thing to get right," said Gabrielle Reece.

The athlete, who is also married to surfer Laird Hamilton said she knows most of us eat mostly for taste, but in their family, they also think of food as fuel. And it's the very reason why Hamilton created "Fuel Up". A plant-based, whole food, sort of Paleo-style way of eating.

"I was eating this way before there was Paleo philosophy, more towards nature. But I also think being more flexible in your diet is probably one of the most critical things, and that's what I pride myself at being able to do. Eat almost anything," said Hamilton.

"It isn't about being perfect. Laird is really, really strict and so this book is a representation, but it's also considering people's reality. I don't even eat like Laird. The idea is how to make things easy, taste great, easy to make and realistic," Reece reminded.

They look at food in terms of sessions rather than meal times, with the thought that you eat when you are truly hungry and learn to go "within" to decide what you need to eat.

"The continued message of 'You are your own best doctor.' These are starting points, but it's like, hey, play around with it. We do eat animal protein, the highest quality," said Reece.

Although it's eaten as a complement to the meal, rather than the main part of of their plates.
Where the book gets fun is variety. Because Hamilton has surfed globally, he's got flavors, fun flavors, all the way from Argentina to Thailand.

Chimichurri pork burgers, Indonesian green chili bowl, even Kamala grilled salmon from Phuket. And let's not forget avocado mousse cake.

"I think I'm fortunate to be exposed to a lot of different types of cuisine. Growing up in Hawaii and all the different cultures that influence our food there -- and, of course, traveling the world," Hamilton said.

The Legendary Surf band of the 60's, The Surfaris, performing their #1 hit "Wipe Out" at Casa Escobar in Malibu.

Before the music starts, Bob Berryhill's dad broke a board (imitating a breaking surf board) near the mic, followed by a maniacal laugh and the words "Wipe Out" spoken by band manager Dale Smallin. "Wipe Out" was written in the studio by the four original members (Berryhill, Connolly, Fuller, and Wilson). It was initially issued on the tiny DFS label (#11/12) in January 1963. It was reissued on the tiny Princess label (#50) in February 1963. It was picked up by Dot (45-16479) in April 1963, and later reissued as Dot 45-144 in April 1965. It sold over one million copies and was awarded a gold disc.

Roy and Sean Johnson are the original night riders. While most surfers chase the sun, the father and son duo are fueled by twilight, surfing under the stars. Sean grew up in Malibu, surfing on homemade boards that his dad shaped for him. Using discarded or broken surfboards that Roy found on the beach, Roy’s innovative designs helped formulate his son’s surfing experiences. Roy’s latest design, LED surfboards, enables Sean to beat the crowds and hit the waves after dark. With only the stars and a tricked-out board to guide him, surfing has never been so Zen.

As surfers are getting ready to head up North to Leemore, California for the historic Founders Cup, Boardriders had a monumental event take place on Tuesday night… The grand opening of Boardriders Malibu. Modeled off of former CEO Pierre Agnes’ original Boardriders store in France, Boardriders Malibu is not just a store, but an experience.

The store is the first of its kind to open in North America. The location was chosen because of its golden beaches, renowned point-breaks and emblematic California vibes. With a picturesque point-break in front of the store, Venice's notorious skatepark just down the way and the mountains a couple hours drive away, Malibu is the embodiment of the mountain and the wave lifestyle.

Stocking the latest apparel, footwear and performance gear by Boardriders Inc.'s own brands Quiksilver, Roxy, and DC Shoes as well as a large selection of accessories and premium boards, the Malibu store also features a café, barber shop, lounge area and art gallery.
With its sweeping terrace, it is also the perfect venue to take in Southern California's famous sunsets overlooking the Pacific Ocean or check the waves at Topanga point. Utilizing a selection of natural wood elements and emphasizing the abundant natural light, the 4,200 sf surface offers plenty of room for relaxing between surfs while discovering the latest products from Boardriders brands.

Chad Marshall, local legend and newly appointed store manager of Boardriders Malibu, is excited to get cracking. “We will host weekly concerts, constantly renew our art gallery and involve both our riders and the community to make this place feel truly alive. Malibu is one of the few places where world class surfing meets a global creative community. We want that to shine through both our events and the atmosphere we create everyday at Boardriders Malibu.”
