"I spotted a fire on Windward Ave next to an elderly homeless guy I know who has dementia or something around 4:30 am. He cant talk, so he couldn't tell me if it was his to stay warm or someone started it passing by, but it was really close to the highly flammable street dining set up that the city illegally allows in the street, so I decided to put it out before the neighborhood burned down. The city refuses to help people like this and let them suffer and die on the street intentionally. LAPD and private security drove by and supposedly didn't see it. There was a lot of smoke which I smelled a few blocks away and tracked it down, they literally drove by as I was there. I have seen this guy everyday for at least a year and he has never had a fire previously. I believe someone tossed a cigarette or something on his blankets he had on the planter. There's a group of rich people currently threatening the city with litigation if this type of thing happens, rather than forcing them to live up to their responsibilities, they just threaten frivolous lawsuits and demand the current situation continue by asking for the wrong solution. Seemed very suspicious to me. LAPD refuses all arson investigations if it is against a homeless person, so I didn't bother. He also could have tossed a cigarette in there himself and it caught his blanket on fire.

Then the park rangers were back with sanitation for the weekly Venice boardwalk homeless clean up. Sanitation was out all night and harassed select people again, but didn't clean anything. The morning shift was no different. Because homelessness is not illegal while the city refuses to provide shelter, only thing they could do was move people 5 feet and pretend to sweep.

Later I ran into a LAPD detainment with one man claiming another was trying to sell kids drugs, and the guy claiming the other stole his cellphone. There was no cellphone in possession and LAPD refused to search the other guy for drugs, so they let everyone go."

"I ran into LAPD in the middle of a foot pursuit chasing a man with a knife. He led them on a pretty long chase around the neighborhood, going in and out of different properties. In the end the suspect held a knife to his throat and threatened suicide and was taken to the hospital."

"A homelessness update of Venice beach and surrounding areas filmed on 2/1-2/22. There's a lot of other people around Venice, this is just some of them. Everyone is still being moved around aimlessly while the funding intended to help them is wasted."

Friday 1/28/22 Venice Beach, CA boardwalk homeless clean up aka sweep. Filmed by Cop Watch Venice

"Park Rangers are back for the Friday boardwalk homeless clean up and are pretty nice to everyone today. LAPD was out at night again harassing everyone into moving for no reason, so there wasn't much for anyone to do. It's disgusting how LAPD is out in the middle of the night harassing elderly homeless people in wheelchairs, more disgusting this is the treatment the wealthy property owners ask for. They like helping the city screw themselves over apparently.

The Ferrari was there for a renegade photo shoot, LAPD did not care they were driving around illegally, they were too tired from waking up people sleeping in wheelchairs."

The Los Angeles Fire Department’s Arson/Counter-Terrorism Section today arrested a suspect in connection with a recent series of arson fires in the Venice area and is seeking the public's help in locating an additional suspect in the crimes.

The fires occurred early Tuesday, January 25, 2022, on Ocean Front Walk near Westminster Avenue. Thanks to prompt reporting of the fires to 9-1-1, firefighters quickly extinguished the blazes before flames could cause injury or extend to any structure.

Police say the suspect, a homeless male, is alleged to be involved in a string of fires on the Boardwalk.

In canvassing the community in the hours that followed, plainclothes LAFD Investigators - working closely with Patrol Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Community Police Station, received helpful tips from neighbors, including surveillance video that allowed them to quickly apprehend a suspect and obtain imagery of his suspected accomplice.

Suspect Jonathan Michael Noriega, age 32, is currently in custody and expected to be charged with the crime of arson. His suspected accomplice remains at large.

"Protecting our community from the scourge of firesetting takes teamwork, and in this case, that teamwork paid off with the timely arrest of a suspected arsonist," said Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion Chief Roy Paige, Commander of the LAFD Arson/Counter-Terrorism Section.

Anyone who knows the identity or location of the outstanding suspect (seen in a photo below) or who can tie these individuals to other crimes or fires should call the Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 222-8477.

Name: Jonathan Michael Noriega

" LAPD and sanitation surprise everyone left on the boardwalk with a Wednesday clean up. They are doing it because of the upcoming super bowl and playoffs and surprisingly wasted more money than normal with this one. Over 10 cops standing around, 12 sanitation workers, and nobody did anything. The business improvement district guy power washed the pagodas after sanitation kicked everyone out, but they are not supposed to clean the boardwalk whatsoever and are paid by property owners separate money to clean around their properties only. They broke major federal laws acting as city employees and misappropriating homelessness funding. This is a federal crime that happens all the time because people here don't care what the city does and apparently like it. FBI is currently investigating the city and it's intentionally wasting homelessness funding, hopefully my reports on it will lead to an indictment or two."
