Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Station has a Safe Exchange Zone in the east side of our parking lot. If you are making a private party transaction off EBay, Offer Up, Facebook Marketplace, or other sites, please utilize the safety of our parking lot to conduct your exchanges.

Here are a few safety reminders you should also keep in mind when buying/selling online.

1. Always meet in a public place (such as Police/Sheriff Station)
2., Never go to an exchange alone, always bring backup.
3. Only bring enough money for the purchase.
4. Try the product first, before buying.
5. Get proof of the purchase (written document/receipt).
6. Do not give out your personal information.
7. Always trust your gut, if something seems off it probably is.

Please remember, when utilizing Malibu/Lost Hills Station’s Safe Exchange Zone, deputies cannot act as official witnesses for the transactions. They will not provide legal advice or settle any civil disputes.

Ocean Water Use Warning for Los Angeles County Beaches

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health cautions residents who are planning to visit the below Los Angeles County beaches to avoid swimming, surfing, and playing in ocean waters:

BEACH REOPENING

On June 7th, Public Health issued a beach closure and posted closure signs due to sewage discharge affecting all swim areas at:

· Malibu Lagoon at Surfrider Beach

Samples taken on June 11th and June 12th show bacteria levels lower than state standards. Sampling is done daily.

BEACH AREAS WARNINGS:

· Sweetwater Canyon Storm Drain at Carbon Canyon Beach

· Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica

· Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey

· The Bel Air Bay Club at Will Rogers State Beach

These warnings have been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested.

On Saturday, June 10th, Sheriff's Deputies saw a pair of Lamborghinis excessively speeding on PCH at Las Flores during AIDS/LifeCycle event. Due to the danger they posed to motorists, pedestrians & 1000s of event participants, they were impounded & cited for expired registration.
On Saturday, June 10th, a thief stole a wallet and phone from a vehilce while the owner was out surfing at will Rogers. It is unknown had he gained entry into the vehicle, owner thought it was locked.

The vehicles's sentry mode recorded it.






Family Friendly Event that will take place at Venice Beach next to the Volleyball and Handball courts.
