Because of street closures in Venice due to that Christmas Marathon, there was a last decision to move the contest from the Breakwater to the Venice Pier. As always, super laid back, no pressure contest, with divisions from Groms, Ladies, the young guns, the old guys, and the really old guys.

And the results?
As always, the results were announced at the awards party later in the evening. There were product tosses, live bands, alcohol, etc... Rick Massey's daughters got 1st and 2nd in their division, Zypher Wilson got a trophy or 2 probably, as did Matt Smith. Savanna and Mary took top spots for the Ladies. And....well, Ger-I will possibly release the official results...sometime soon.

It's hard to imagine the epicenter of technically graceful logging as anywhere other than Malibu. Every summer, thousands of longboarders descend on the place to feel the freedom of First Point in cruise control. On a blistering fall afternoon, Australia’s Harrison Roach and San Diego stylist Nathan Strom went to Malibu and cross-stepped their way to the nose at modern surfing's birthplace, hanging heels and paying homage to California's classic pointbreak.
