6th Annual Show Us Your Bum Photo and Video Contest

From day one SunBum has had this running challenge to see who can tag and snag the craziest or coolest or most hilarious photo using the SunBum logo, stickers or products. SunBum eventually made an actual contest out of it and this summer they’re gonna make it rain (don’t worry, not literally) harder than ever. @SunBum Instagram

The contest kicks off on Memorial Day (May 28th) and ends on Labor Day (September 3rd). Every Monday SunBum will select weekly winner(s) of their favorite #ShowUsYourBum photo and/or video posted on Instagram. All weekly winners will receive a prize pack, be featured on the @SunBum Instagram and be automatically placed in the finals.

At the end, all weekly winners will be voted on by YOU, our social media friends. That’s right, you decide who takes home all the money.

1st place $3,000 USD
2nd place $2,000 USD
3rd place $1,000 USD

So… get creative, get your friends, get the dog, get the kids and get busy. Don’t cost nothin’, just post your photos and/or videos on Instagram using #ShowUsYourBum #TrustTheBum and @SunBum .

September 20 will forever be known California Surfing Day. The date has been introduced in the Golden State legislature to celebrate the California surfing lifestyle, and honor the history, culture, and future of the sport. Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 122 was proposed by California State Senator Janet Nguyen and was unanimously approved by all members of the state's upper house.

The public announcement was made by Senator Nguyen, city officials, and surf legends in the Huntington Beach Pier while pro surfers sat on their boards in flat conditions waiting to competed at 2018 US Open of Surfing.

"Since surfing was brought to California's coast in the 19th century, the sport has transcended beyond the oceans to impact our language, music, fashion, and art. Surfing is a part of the social, economic, and cultural fabric of our State."

According to the bill, California has the largest ocean economy in the United States, and the US surf industry generates annual retail sales of over $6 billion.

The Golden State's coastline, with its 1,100 miles of coastal areas and beaches, generates $1.15 trillion in economic activity annually.
