According to Surfline, "Slow rise in SSW swell into mid week, as smaller NW swell fades"

Tuesday, June 9th: 2-3’+ surf for average spots, 4-5’ at top breaks. — Light/favorable AM wind.
Short-period NW swell falls off as more SW-SSW swell (220-200) moves in. Average breaks are in the waist-stomach high zone while better exposures of southern Ventura, LA and SD push up around shoulder high. OC standouts hit head high+ on favorable tides. Light offshore morning wind for most spots, trending moderate onshore out of the NW/WNW in the afternoon..

Wednesday, June 10th: 3-4′ waves off peaking SSW swell at good exposures, 5’+ for standouts. — Light AM wind.
Good shot of SSW swell (220-200) tops out, putting well exposed spots of southern Ventura, LA and SD in waist to shoulder high, while best breaks in OC are running head high to slightly overhead. Areas without the good southerly view are smallest, with mainly just remnant NW swell lapping in. Light/variable winds due most of the morning, followed by light+ to moderate westerly afternoon onshores.

The average water temps as of June 8th.

The ATF is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the looters who hit Big 5 in Santa Monica last Sunday. The looters stole 29 guns from the store.

Below is the press statement from the ATF:

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced a reward today of up to $10,000 for information related to the arrest of those responsible for the burglary of a federal firearms licensee in Santa Monica.

Around 8 p.m., May 31, a group of unidentified suspects burglarized the store Big 5 Sporting Goods, at 3121 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, California. The unidentified suspects used a crowbar and a sledgehammer to break the windows and utilized bolt cutters to cut the metal roll down gate. They opened the emergency exit door of the business to gain entry to the business. Once inside, the suspects stole 29 firearms from the business. The suspects who used the sledgehammer and bolt cutters were riding in a white BMW four-door sedan.

ATF Los Angeles is offering up to a $5,000 reward, along with up to a $5,000 reward from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the burglary of Big 5 Sporting Goods.

This total reward of $10,000 is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the ATF and NSSF in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers. NSSF is the trade association for the firearms industry. ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.

Anyone with any information about this crime should contact ATF at 1-888-ATF-TIPS (888-283-8477), by visiting www.reportit.com or through the mobile “reportit” app, available both on Google Play and the Apple App Store. All calls will be kept confidential.

When reporting information, include as many details as possible, and contact information if seeking a reward. Information eligible for reward must lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the robbery.

This investigation is being conducted jointly by the ATF Los Angeles Field Division and Santa Monica Police Department

The 2020 They Will Skate Again at the Venice Skate Park has been fully cancelled, we were hoping the dates would be pushed back a couple months, but Life Rolls On this announcement this morning:

"Los Angeles County/Venice Beach Skate Park has decided to not give permits out for events at the skate park for the duration of 2020. Though we are certainly disappointed about this decision, the health and well being of our entire LROhana is of the utmost importance to us…it’s really all that matters. So we will look forward to seeing all the stoke, all the friendships, and all the laughter in 2021."

"Stay safe and love life. Because life loves you."

The 2020 Fireworks Show at Marina Del Rey has been cancelled. LA Beaches And Harbors made this announcement this morning:

"Sadly, the 2020 Marina del Rey July 4th Fireworks Show is cancelled due to COVID-19. The level of crowd and traffic control needed to effectively plan and manage the thousands of spectators that gather in Marina del Rey for the event is always a major public health and safety concern, and the current guidelines for physical distancing and large gatherings make such an event impossible. We hope to bring the show back in the near future to commemorate not only America’s Independence Day, but also to celebrate a stronger and healthier community."
