Update on the woman who was shot and killed on December 1 just before 5:30 p.m. near the Venice Beach Boardwalk.

The victim is 28-year-old Ky Thomas, who was a mother to an 8-year-old girl and 1-month-old boy. She had recently purchased a home and had received her license to broker loans in commercial trucking, a family friend said during a news conference.

The LAPD says there was some type of dispute between Thomas, her boyfriend and and three Black males who were possibly wearing hoodies. The assailants ran away from the scene. No arrests have been made in the incident. Thomas was the only one who was shot and later died from her injuries.

“It still doesn’t seem real, it’s like I’m just waiting for Ky to call me, it’s like a dream,” Cortlyn Bridges, Thomas’ mother said.

“My daughter was not a gang member, my daughter was a mother, my daughter was a loving, kind and caring person who helped anybody,” Bridges said. “My daughter was a good girl, she had a good heart.”

Anyone with information about the shooting can call LAPD’s West Bureau homicide investigators at 213-382-9470.
A High Surf Advisory has been issued by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: Alert:

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 6 to 10 feet with local sets to 12 feet through tonight. Surf will lower to 5 to 8 feet by Wednesday morning. Expect continued dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...Los Angeles County Coast and western shores of Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Surf will be highest on exposed west facing beaches. Short period northeast wind waves of 3 to 6 feet will create hazardous conditions near northeast harbor entrances such as Avalon and Two Harbors on Catalina Island through this evening. The surf will begin to slowly subside tonight through Wednesday. It will still be elevated early Thursday though below advisory criteria.

Instructions: A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

The pissed of local that Smeared Human Feces All Over Venice Pier Construction Site last week has struck again. Check out the photo below.

Video footage of the Woman killed in Gang Shooting at Venice Beach from Wanderer Nirvana .

A large, long-period NW swell combined with gusty NE winds will create high surf along all beaches and hazardous seas across much of the coastal waters Mon through Wed. Dangerous rip currents and large breaking waves are likely.

Someone is pissed off that part of the Venice Pier parking lot is closed for the pier's repair work.

So pissed off that he smeared his poop all over the fencing.

One of the employees of the the company that was hired to do the repair work on the pier showed our source the security video of the poop smearing.

The employee said it was blelieved to be human feces and that they have informed the "authorities" who are now looking for the suspect.

And this suspect, who is said to be a regular at the pier, may also be the reason there is always trash thrown in fenced off section.

There was a couple days that the Venice Pier parking lot smelled a lot worse than it usually does, this may be why.

"After a busy day, I went to Venice Beach. I walked all the way down to breakwater where lots of surfers meet to surf into the sunset. It was a beautiful sunset and I was able to recharge my batteries, to soak in the beauty of nature. Sometimes you just have to sit and enjoy life."

Barbie has announced 12-year-old skateboarder Sky Brown as a Barbie Role Model by unveiling a one-of-a-kind doll created in her likeness, to highlight how she has broken boundaries for the next generation of girls.

Sky Brown is a professional skateboarder and surfer. Sky will be competing for Team GB next year in the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, making her Great Britain’s youngest Summer Olympian ever, and the youngest Olympic athlete since 1936. Sky began skating and surfing at the age of two and quickly became a phenomenon when short videos of her gained millions of views on YouTube.

As the original girl empowerment brand, Barbie is dedicated to shining a spotlight on powerful, diverse role models to inspire the limitless potential in every girl, and this year honours women breaking barriers in sports. The doll is dressed in Nike activewear and holds a skateboard, ready for adventures on and off the ramp.

The doll was gifted to Sky as she recovers from injuries from her worst fall yet, breaking her left wrist and hand and suffering skull fractures earlier this year at a skate park in California.

Sky’s already looking forward to recovering and picking up her skateboard. She commented: “I’m going to push boundaries for girls with my skating and surfing. I’m going for gold in 2021 and nothing will stop me. Having a Barbie created in my likeness is one of the most incredible things that’s ever happened to me. I hope other girls my age can see what is possible when you follow your dreams.”

Earlier this year, Sky released a book titled ‘Sky’s the Limit’ – a compilation of stories and inspirational quotes illustrating Sky’s journey so far. Sky hopes to continue making history while inspiring fans of all ages across the world.

This year, Barbie is spotlighting female role models in sports, in an effort to close the Dream Gap; the time when girls start to doubt that they can be anything. Research shows that when girls play sports, they report higher levels of confidence, which in turn breaks down barriers to girl’s self-belief.

The Barbie Dream Gap Project is an ongoing global initiative that aims to give girls the resources and support needed to continue to believe that they can be anything. Barbie is working to close the Dream Gap by: highlighting role models, encouraging purposeful play, and donating funds.

"Today, I interviewed Jeff, an Amish homeless man on Venice Beach who is trying to sell his art buttons on the boardwalk. He lives in a tent right on the Venice Beach Boardwalk. He speaks many languages and has traveled all over the world. It was Really interesting to talk to him. I hope you enjoy this video too."
