That huge 2-story homeless shed in Marina Del Rey has finally been tore down.

It was built by this guy from the Camino Island area north of Seattle, who came to Los Angeles to be a musician, after he failed to make it as one in Nashville. His name is Sean Tyrrell.

Sean was not homeless when he first arrived in Venice, he was staying at the Pod Share, but apparently he got into some arguements because of his music and got kicked out.

“From there I slept in my car three or four nights just around the area looking for places I could pitch a tent. I finally settled on this place." Sean told an interviewer. "Back then, there were other people living here on the sidewalk but not jammed like in other parts of the city. The people that were here got paid to leave. I was offered $100 but I’d already made good progress with my building. I’m legally here and I've obviously spent a lot of time investing in the structure. The offer was an insult.”

So for almost a year, Sean has been building up his shed and battling his residents of the area. He claims they send people to harm him and damage his property. “There’s a few people in the neighborhood who were paying people to attack me for no reason."

L.A.F.D. claimed his "artist studio" to be a definite fire hazard. And after months and months of complaints to the city, it was finally tore down.

Full interview with this guy from March can be read here on Facebook.

The first south swell of the season will bring rising surf to south facing beaches, 3-6 feet but higher surf possible in some areas. Strong rip currents expected.

According to Surfline "the biggest south swell of the season" is coming.

Thursday, April 22nd: 3-4’ waves on average, standouts up to 4-5’+. More favorable wind for many.
WNW/NW pulse eases as fresh S swell picks up further and peaks. Average breaks are in waist-stomach high+ surf as winter/combo focal points get up around chest-shoulder high. Very long period forerunners of a solid new S swell trickle in for select breaks in the evening but will primarily build overnight. Variable to light onshore flow prevails through the first half of the morning. Wind gradually trends onshore from the S/SW, light+ SW flow through the afternoon remaining manageable for areas with some kelp/wind blockage.

Friday, April 23rd: 3-4’+ waves on average, standouts up to 5-6’+ early and larger late. Manageable morning winds.
Old S swell holds as solid, long period new S swell builds. Average breaks are in waist-chest high surf through the morning as good summer spots pull in lully shoulder-head high sets. The afternoon tide push will see size pick up several notches for decent summer exposures, with long period focal points well overhead through the later afternoon/evening. Light/variable wind prevails through the first half of the morning. Wind gradually trends onshore from the S/SW, light+ SW flow through the afternoon remaining manageable for areas with some kelp/wind blockage.Wind drops off for most regions in the evening.

"A homeless guy decides to kick a man’s dog while he was walking it down the Venice Beach Boardwalk. Most crimes are no longer prosecuted in Los Angeles, so some homeless feel they can now get away with anything."

Mike, aka German in Venice, vlogs about daily life in Venice Beach, and the nearby communities.

"Today, on April 15, the city of Los Angeles started cleaning up the handball courts homeless encampments in Venice Beach, California. They came with the big Caterpillar and cleaned out each handball court. Now they have to disinfect the handball court and then it will be repainted."

"An early morning fight between homeless encampment residents on the world famous Venice Beach Boardwalk. Police did not respond, no arrests made."

Earlier this month, the city put up notices that the homeless encampments will be cleaned out of the Venice Hand Ball Courts on April 15th. And these photos from @VeniceIntel taken today shows that the area is actually being cleaned up.

On April 11, 2021, deputies assigned to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to Zuma Beach, Malibu, after receiving reports of a suspicious male harassing female patrons of the beach.

Upon their arrival the deputies were directed to an individual whom they identified as Mr. Kyle Kiddy, a resident of Riverside County, California. While speaking to Mr. Kiddy the deputies observed him to be armed with a rifle which was partially concealed by his long trench coat, a violation of California Penal Code section 25400, for which he was detained.

During the subsequent detention and investigation, the deputies discovered Mr. Kiddy was concealing an additional three firearms and associated ammunition on his person, as well as other items of evidence within his vehicle which was parked nearby.

All the guns he had on him were loaded. Lt. Jim Braden of the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station estimated that Kiddy had between 1,200 and 1,500 rounds of ammunition in the car and on his body.

On April 13, 2021, the facts of the above incident were presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office who filed multiple charges against Mr. Kiddy who remains in police custody.

Kyle Kiddy, 34, is being held in lieu of $60,000 bail.
