"Check out this street sweeper drive around a homeless man sleeping on the Santa Monica Beach Bike Path, Monday, November 16, 2020. The man has been sleeping here for days. Santa Monica Police Department has been notified. An officer arrived with West Coast Cares and helped the man."

Critical Red Flag Conditions likely Wednesday Night through Friday, otherwise elevated conditions through Saturday. Moderate to strong Santa Ana Winds expected Wednesday through Friday, strongest Thanksgiving Thursday. Elevated surf and rip current risk at times through Saturday, with minor beach flooding possible. Strong change in weather expected next week, with growing chances for multiple storms. Be prepared for potential wildfires, evacuations, power and traffic signal outages and hazardous road conditions.

TONIGHT (11/21) starting at 6 pm, join members of the LGBTQIA+ community at the Venice Pride Flag Lifeguard Tower for a candlelight vigil to mourn and honor the lives lost and impacted by the Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs, Colorado — on what was the eve before Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Gather to show solidarity with the LGBTIA+ community of Colorado and their allies to demonstrate that their LGBTQIA+ family in Venice Beach, California, as well as millions around the world, stand with them in love and support as we honor the memories of those lost and those who are healing from the violence in Colorado Springs. This dreadful attack was on a cherished safe space and sadly follows far too many brutal assaults that we have witnessed over the past several decades. From the beach, we will unite in grief and shock as we observe a moment of silence.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own candle or flashlight and to donate directly to Colorado Gives the official organization that is receiving contributions to assist the victims of this tragedy.
