On Monday afternoon, word started spreading that legendary Venice Beach musician Harry Perry had passed away.

Postings on Instagram appeared about him passing away and the Harry Perry Wikipedia Page had been updated with his death info.

But several of his close friends have starting replying to the social media posts letting everyone know that he is alive and well. The part about his death was then removed from his Wikipedia Page

Apparently, according to a source close to him, this was a hoax. The reason why, still unknown.

So it appears Harry is still alive.

The Santa Monica based WSL is now coming under fire for not only allowing one of their CT Surfers who tested positive for Covid-19 to travel to their Hawaii event, but for also helping him do it.

A few days ago, the WSL suspended the Billabong Pipe Masters competition at Oahu’s Banzai Pipeline after having received confirmed, positive COVID-19 test results for five WSL staff members, including CEO and standup paddleboarder extraordinaire Erik Logan.

WSL officials said in the announcement they are working closely with the state Department of Health and “prioritizing the safety of the athletes, staff and surrounding community above all else.”

But, Brazilian News Network, Globo has reported that Yago Dora had been testing postive for Covid-19 in several separate tests right before getting on the plane to Hawaii.

Yago posted about it and mentions that the WSL helped him get an exemption to travel. He origianlly posted about it on a now deleted Instagram post.

Globo has reposted:

Via google translate:
"On November 26th I started my trip from Florianópolis towards Hawaii. The day before, November 25, I did a PCR test from Covid to make sure it was not contaminated before boarding, the result came back NEGATIVE. It seemed to be all right for the trip, but on the 27th morning when I arrived at Dallas airport, where we are asked to do another test in order to be able to board for Hawaii and avoid the 14 days of quarantine required by the government, in this test unfortunately my result he returned POSITIVE, and since then I have been isolated in a hotel room in Dallas and trying thousands of ways to get there in time for the Pipe Masters, which is the most special event on the entire circuit for me and the first event of the 2021 season. Luckily I do not feel any symptoms of the disease and yesterday I had a medical consultation after the tenth isolated day and I am released from isolation, but to embark for Hawaii it is necessary to test negative for Covid (I repeated some tests during these 11 days and I did not get one NEGATIVE) or obtain a quarantine exemption letter from the Hawaiian government. After a lot of effort and a lot of faith, with the help of my team, the WSL, WPS and a medical team today we got the exemption and I'm going to Hawaii! The day before the event starts! I have no words to thank everyone involved in this very intense 11-day battle. You know who you are! THANKS!"

As of now, there is no word if Yago is the one who spread it to the WSL people who are now positive.

Also, the reason why the Pipe Masters competition had to be cancelled was because WSL used a film permit instead of the usual event permit this time. The film permit allowed them to close the beach off, whereas the event permit doesn't. And by using the film permit, they have diffrent CDC guidelines to follow, such as having to stop production when a Covid outbreak takes place.

The rumors are true, ZJ Boarding House officially announced that they will reopen.

The shop closed it's doors back in August due to the landlord and Boardriders (the mega-corp that now owns ZJ) not being able to agree on the new lease. But, now it appears they were able to come to an agreement, as a new 5-year has been signed.

The doors to the newly remodeled will reopen in Spring 2021, after the buidling undergoes the much needed seismic retrofits and gets a new roof.

Until then, ZJ has set up in a "temporary" shop next door to the original location. They are open for business right now.

Update on the woman who was shot and killed on December 1 just before 5:30 p.m. near the Venice Beach Boardwalk.

The victim is 28-year-old Ky Thomas, who was a mother to an 8-year-old girl and 1-month-old boy. She had recently purchased a home and had received her license to broker loans in commercial trucking, a family friend said during a news conference.

The LAPD says there was some type of dispute between Thomas, her boyfriend and and three Black males who were possibly wearing hoodies. The assailants ran away from the scene. No arrests have been made in the incident. Thomas was the only one who was shot and later died from her injuries.

“It still doesn’t seem real, it’s like I’m just waiting for Ky to call me, it’s like a dream,” Cortlyn Bridges, Thomas’ mother said.

“My daughter was not a gang member, my daughter was a mother, my daughter was a loving, kind and caring person who helped anybody,” Bridges said. “My daughter was a good girl, she had a good heart.”

Anyone with information about the shooting can call LAPD’s West Bureau homicide investigators at 213-382-9470.

Short period northeast wind waves of 3 to 6 feet will create hazardous conditions near northeast harbor entrances such as Avalon and Two Harbors on Catalina Island through this evening. The surf will begin to slowly subside tonight through Wednesday. It will still be elevated early Thursday though below advisory criteria.

Instructions: A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Video footage of the Woman killed in Gang Shooting at Venice Beach from Wanderer Nirvana .

A large, long-period NW swell combined with gusty NE winds will create high surf along all beaches and hazardous seas across much of the coastal waters Mon through Wed. Dangerous rip currents and large breaking waves are likely.

Someone is pissed off that part of the Venice Pier parking lot is closed for the pier's repair work.

So pissed off that he smeared his poop all over the fencing.

One of the employees of the the company that was hired to do the repair work on the pier showed our source the security video of the poop smearing.

The employee said it was blelieved to be human feces and that they have informed the "authorities" who are now looking for the suspect.

And this suspect, who is said to be a regular at the pier, may also be the reason there is always trash thrown in fenced off section.

There was a couple days that the Venice Pier parking lot smelled a lot worse than it usually does, this may be why.

LA County is issuing another Safer At Home Order, effective Monday 11/30/2020.

The beaches and skateparks are staying open.

Basically, this new Order is for businesses to operate at even lower capacities. It is just another of the LA County Pubic Health's unscientific guidelines that has no data to back it up.

The full details on the Order and which businesses get wrongfully punished for the LA County Public Health's incompentence can be viewed here.
