From Santa Monica Close Up:

"On Thursday, March 2, 2023, at around 5pm, according to Public Information Officer Lieutenant Flores, Santa Monica Police Officers and fire personnel responded to a call about a male who was down at Palisades Park. Upon arrival, they discovered that the man, who was homeless, had passed away. The cause of death is not yet known, but there were no signs of foul play. Trash Interceptor 007 hard at work after a storm that brought 7” of rain to the LA Basin. Interceptor 007 collected approximately 11 tons of trash, plastic, and debris during the major storm events from February 24-27. The 11.6 tons of plastic, trash and debris was offloaded for disposal or recycling.

To date, Interceptor 007 has prevented more than 110,000 pounds (55 tons) of trash and debris from reaching the Santa Monica Bay and local beaches since its launch in October 2022.

The Los Angeles County Beaches and Harbors Dept. has closed the Point Dume access road at the end of Westward Beach Road due to a debris flow onto the road from a property on Birdview Avenue and potential land shift and bluff failure, with concern for more. The public should avoid the area, beware falling rocks and debris and land movement. No current estimate for reopening.

Due to the recent events at Aviator Nation with the Zuma Cars & Coffee, the City of Malibu is now REQUIRING a permit in order WHEELS & WAVES show to take place at Sea N Soul Surf Cafe. Bummer…

The Aviator Nation DREAMLAND event did not get a permit and appeared in the Malibu Times afterwards, thus putting the show on the radar of the City Council. Now, WHEELS & WAVES must get a permit in order to proceed which means the show will be postponed for a bit. (Permits take time and $$) But the organizers will make it happen so STAY TUNED!
