On March 1, a sexual assault occurred of a lone female who was waiting for a ride in the 1700 block of Ocean Park Boulevard. At about 8:15 PM, the male suspect approached the victim as he was pulling down his pants and making lewd statements. The victim turned to leave the area when the suspect grabbed her from behind and began touching the victim inappropriately over her clothing. The victim struggled with the suspect and was able to free herself and flee the area. The suspect was caught on surveillance camera leaving the location.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health cautions residents who are planning to visit the below Los Angeles County beaches to avoid swimming, surfing, and playing in ocean waters:

BEACH AREA WARNINGS:

· Walnut Creek at Paradise Cove

The entire swim area.

· Escondido Creek at Escondido State Beach

The entire swim area.

· Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica

100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.

· Pico-Kenter storm drain at Santa Monica Beach. Santa Monica South Tower 20

100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain.

· Windward storm drain at Venice Beach

100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain.

These warnings have been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested.

BEACH AREAS NOW CLEARED:

Warnings have been lifted for the following beach areas where recent sample results identified water quality levels within State standards:

· Santa Monica Canyon Creek at Will Rogers State Beach Near Will Rogers Tower 18

· Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey

*Some ocean water quality testing results are not yet available following the rain advisory.

CHP officers tried to stop speeding BMW, which fled at speeds over 115 MPH. CHP helicopter took over the pursuit & followed the white BMW down Kanan. Officers eventually found the BMW in Malibu and it fled again, hitting a truck & flipping over into a porta-potty. The driver, an 18 yr old Malibu resident, was arrested.

Los Angeles police officers responded around 11:15 a.m. to the 1800 block of Ocean Front Walk in Venice, where a man described as homeless had allegedly assaulted a 7-year-old boy, according to LAPD spokesman David Cuellar.

This is the second child that 23-year-old homeless man, Ahsante Lamar Morgan, has assaulted. He was wanted by Santa Monica Police for sucker punching a 6 year old girl on Main Street in Santa Monica. SMPD detectives are now working with LAPD to present our consolidated cases to the LA County District Attorney, aiming for a swift filing of felony child abuse charges. Detectives with the Santa Monica Police Department are expected to take the lead in the case, according to the LAPD.

As of Thursday, March 14, Topanga Canyon Blvd. is still closed in both directions from Pacific Coast Highway to Grand View Dr. Due to slides. The road will remain closed until further notice.

Update as of 10 a.m. March 14, Pacific Coast Highway at Porto Marina Way in Pacific Palisades is reduced to one lane on the Northbound side due to a mud/rock slide. A geologist was on site examining the slide. Caltrans said they must allow the slope to dry more before taking further action.

A 6 year old girl was sucker punched in the face by a homeless man on Sunday. She was walking with her her parents down Main Street in Santa Monica when the assault happened. The Santa Monica Police has finally issued a statement regarding this horrible event:

We have received several media requests related to an incident that occurred at about 7pm on Sunday, March 10th, in Santa Monica. A male (not confirmed as homeless) was sitting on a bus bench at Main Street and Marine Avenue acting erratically. A 6-year-old child and her parents were walking northbound on Main Street behind the bench when the suspect spun around and struck the child causing her to fall to the ground. Thankfully, the child was not seriously injured. The suspect, described as a male, Black, approx. 6-01, 30-35 years old, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, fled the location northbound on Main Street and out of sight. He was not apprehended.

“An incident like this one is an affront to public safety and will not be tolerated. Even more so that a child was involved. Any crime committed in Santa Monica is a crime too many; our department stands strong in the face of anyone who chooses to victimize those who are in this city. Our detectives are working hard to uncover more details of the incident and identify and apprehend the suspect.

We appreciate our partnership with our community, relying on our residents, business owners and visitors to provide us with information about criminal behavior. We continue our specialized uniformed deployments on Main Street and in our Downtown area. Our goal is to be proactive and present, providing safety and security to our residents and visitors.

In addition, we are deploying our Homeless Liaison Program Team of police officers and a mental health clinician to provide much needed resources to those experiencing homelessness. Our efforts, combined with the Therapeutic Transport Team and the Salvation Army, provide us a platform to redouble our efforts to connect individuals with treatment and shelter.” -Chief Rámon Batista

Even though the SMPD stated the suspect is not homeless, witnesses have reported he is.

The infamous Bentley Driving Theives that have been hitting all the surf spots arrested.

Detectives have discovered evidence that there are more victims than previously reported and thus are requesting any information on additional victims, including outside of the City of Los Angeles.

This crew was targeting cars at surf spots, as well as burglarizing homes in the area. At the surf spots, they located hidden key fobs and used key fob amplifiers to open vehicles and remove victims' property. They used sophisticated methods to unlock and access victims' phones. Then used victims' info to make purchases at luxury stores and to send money to additonal suspects through money transfer service applications.

According to witnesses, the group consist of up to 3 males. They also broken into at least one known vehicle at Sunset Point on Saturday, Mason Brown's Surf Report gave an update about that with some photos:

"Surveillance video of the robbers who broke into Guy's car yesterday!

They eventually pulled into the lot right next to Guy's car and broke in (possibly using a fob scanner). Guy saw them just as they were finishing and they peeled out."

Their worst crime... those shorts!!!
