According to Surfline, "Southern California will see a modest to fun-size mix of southwest southern hemisphere swell, and a touch of south-southeast swell from former hurricane Genevieve over the weekend.."

Saturday, August 22nd: 2-3’ waves for decent summer spots, magnets 4′. Light AM winds
SW/SSW swell (220-205) and NW windswell ease as small S swell from Genevieve creeps up (mainly in the afternoon). Well exposed spots of LA see waist-high surf and the occasional + sets. Light/variable winds early trend onshore from the S through the morning. Afternoon wind is light+ to locally moderate S-SSW most areas, then the southerly flow looks to ease in the evening. Surf is on the swampy side when the tide hits a deep high of about 5′ mid day.

Sunday, August 23rd: 2-3’ surf at good southerly exposures, 4′ top breaks. AM winds are light.
Old SW/SSW swell (220-205) and NW windswell mix tapers off, as steep, selective and modest scale pulse of tropical swell from Genevieve peaks. Better exposures in northern LA are running thigh-waist high+. Light/variable winds most of the morning, shift to light+/locally more afternoon onshores. Evening winds look to ease. Waves are bogged down when as early afternoon high tide peaks at 5’+.
