The Santa Monica Pier is the place to be for classic car fans on Saturday, September 11th. The Santa Monica Pier Classic “End of Summer” Car Show takes place from 10A-5P directly on the Santa Monica Pier deck parking lot.

The event is free for guests to attend and will have food and drink available for purchase. There will be live performances by local bands and artists The Midnight Cruzzers and DJ Chel, as well as the Miss Chevy Pinup Contest.

For those wishing to participate in the car show, there is a $30 roll in fee and a requirement for pre-1972 cars only. Roll in times are from 7A-9A; limited spaces available. Participants will be entered in a raffle and award show.

Skate the Coast is a 19 mile skate-bike-roll from the Santa Monica Pier to Redondo Beach along the iconic Southern California Strand with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop for this mellow cruise.

Skate-bike-roll 19 miles from the Santa Monica Pier to Dive N Surf in Redondo Beach with B4BC and friends! This is a collective push for prevention with three hydration stops along the way. The morning will start at Veteran's Park in Redondo Beach where we'll load the shuttles to the Santa Monica Pier. From there we'll cruise down the coast to Arbor Venice, Marina Del Rey, Dockweiler State Beach, Hermosa Beach and finishing off at Dive N Surf for awards and celebrations.

Early morning Venice Beach fight. Two people arguing about parking when it's illegal to park on this street bordering the boardwalk. The Explorer driver is mad he couldn't park and acts like he's going to hit the vendor unloading and runs over his stuff instead, the vendor fights back! A bystander reported it, the vendor was not questioned and nobody went to jail.

The entry to Point Dume is closed to pedestrians & vehicles due to the access road collapse.

LA Beaches & Harbors asks beachgoers to stay away from Pt Dume Beach. Without vehicle access, they can't clean facilities or pump out portable toilets. There is no water or power.

On August 21 at 2:57 p.m. in the area of Venice Boulevard and Ocean Front Walk, two teens from a 'youth group' became "suddenly ill" and had to be taken to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics after they became suddenly ill following suspected use or contact with a still undetermined illicit substance. One in grave condition with Advanced Life Support measures underway during transport, while the other patient was in serious condition with an altered level of consciousness.

Both teens were taken to UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, where one of the subjects died, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The other teen remains in serious condition.

According to the LAPD, the teens bought what they thought was Percocet in McFarland, California.

"Today, I went to Hampton Drive right in front of Golds Gym in Venice Beach, California. They had a few big homeless encampments right in front of Golds Gym and today LAPD and the sanitation crew came down and cleaned up all the homeless encampments on the sidewalk."
