Beginning Tuesday, January 16, 2024 - Wednesday, January 31, 2024, 5:00AM - 2:00PM, Monday - Friday, the bike and pedestrian path underneath the Pier will be TEMPORARILY CLOSED due to construction of the fire sprinkler system directly overhead.
Please follow the detour signs for both pedestrians and bicyclists around the pier.
The City of Santa Monica has contracted with Jilk Heavy Construction to replace sprinkler heads, piping, and pipe supports underneath the Pier to provide continued fire protection to the wooden decking and substructure. Work is anticipated to be completed by June 2024.
