Because of the corrupt and incompetent Mike Bonin and the failure of LAPD to properely police Venice Beach, the Sheriff's Department is now stepping in.
Tuesday mornig, the LA County Sheriff's Homeless Outreach Services Team (HOST) started assessing the Venice Boardwalk in order to triage the crisis and develop an action plan to "compassionately offer services while employing common sense in the regulation of public space within Los Angeles County".
Sheriff Alex Villanueva made the announcement that he plans to have the boardwalk cleared by the 4th of July.

There are 16 deputies who are all on the departments homeless outreach team, plus roughly 7 deputies who are mental evaluation team members and a few civilian clinicians. pic.twitter.com/xriotRcXux

Deputies from @LASDHQ are helping this Vietnam veteran pack up his belongings and get to the VA, because he needs medical treatment. The deputies say beds are available and they hope this is the first step to getting him into shelter or housing. pic.twitter.com/sioZyNZJqQ

Meanwhile, the corrupt and incompent Mke Bonin is crying like a bitch about it on twitter, but what else would you expect from a garbage politcican like him:
The sheriff says he's coming to Venice.

He didn’t call to offer services or housing, which would help. He went on a PR blitz, promising his own notorious brand of justice.
To anyone familiar with Villanueva and LASD, that's incredibly ominous.
