4th Of July Earthquake

An earthquake rattles Southern California on Fourth of July.

The 6.4 magnitude quake struck at 10:33 a.m. in the Mojave Desert, about 150 miles (240 kilometers) northeast of Los Angeles, near the town of Ridgecrest, California. It is the strongest quake to hit the region in 20 years.

It was captured on our own Instagram Stories. While shooting surf clips of Topanga for our stories, the ground started moving and all the birds went crazy, taking off from ground and trees and started flying around the water.

None of the surfers coming in from the water said they felt anything.

No damages or injuries reported along the beaches.
