Modest Tropical Swell Coming This Week

According to Surfline, "S/SSW swell holds Wed then fades late week as selective tropical swell peaks."



Wednesday, August 12th: S/SSW swell offers 3-5′ surf at focal points. Lightest wind in the AM.
SSW/S swell (195-180) holds, small NW windswell creeps up, and selective SSE swell from Elida creeps in late. Fun-zone surf (3-4′ faces) continues at the better breaks across western North LA. Standouts in those regions go larger at times. Variable to light onshore W/WNW wind early trends onshore through the morning. Light to moderate WNW winds for the afternoon.generally clean conditions early (some spots may see a touch of surface lump/bump). Winds are trending light+ onshore through the morning from the W. Light+ to locally moderate onshore winds pick up for the afternoon adding bump/texture at most spots.

Thursday, August 13th: Blend of SSW/SSE swell offers 3-4’+ surf at focal points. Lightest wind in the AM.
Selective SSE trending S swell from Elida peaks in the morning as old SSW/S swell (195-180) eases. Modest, local NW windswell energy blends in. Rideable to fun-zone surf (2-3’+ faces) continues at the better breaks across western North LA. Standouts go larger at times. Variable to light onshore W/WNW wind early trends onshore through the mid to late-morning. Light to moderate WNW winds for the afternoon are strongest for North LA.
