Surf Forecast Analysis



Surflies reports: Surf is trending up for California mid week, with new SW swell and SSE swell. Not to be left out, the NPAC also delivers a pulse of modest WNW energy as well. Combo beachbreaks should offer fun, peaky surf. Also, we've got some action going on in the tropics, which could contribute some swell later in the week.

Surf Trend: Small surf for most Wednesday, building mix of swells for the back half of the week
Tides: Morning lows, afternoon highs
Water Temps: Mid to upper 60’s for most of SoCal

Wednesday, August 21st: 2-3′ waves at S/SSE and combo spots. Light early AM wind. Surf begins to trend back up, local NW windswell rebounding as a modest new S/SSE swell (180-165) shows. Most breaks are knee high at best, a few sets to waist high for best combo breaks of North LA. Light/variable wind through the morning, with light+ to locally moderate onshore WSW/W wind in the afternoon.

Thursday, August 22nd: 2-3’+ waves at summer and combo spots. Light wind early goes S quickly. Surf continues to trend back up, long period energy of new SW swell (220-205) creeping up, NW swell-mix up a notch and modest S/SSE swell (180-165) lingering. Most breaks are waist high at best, a few sets to chest high developing for best combo breaks of Northnmost LA.
