Solid WNW Swell Continues Mon-Tue



According to Surfline: More solid WNW swell Sat PM-Sun, Mon-Tue… surf finally slows late next week.

Monday, January 17th: Old/new WNW swells 4-6’ good breaks, standouts 8’+ late. Swirling AM wind.
W/WNW swell (270-300+) from the weekend trends down as solid new long period WNW swell (280-300) builds. Average winter breaks are in chest-head high+ waves as good winter breaks go overhead in the morning. Size trends up through the second half of the day. E wind in the morning for LA. Wind lightens midday and offshore Santa Ana flow develops late afternoon.

Tuesday, January 18th: WNW swell is 4-6’+ good breaks, standouts 8-10′. Swirling AM wind.
W/WNW swell (270-300+) holds through the morning then eases. Average winter breaks are in chest-head high-overhead waves as good winter breaks go 2-3′ overhead. Moderate to breezy NE/ENE Santa Ana flow in the morning for select zones becomes widespread through the afternoon. This is looking like one of the strongest all day off shore Santa Ana event for the coastal areas in some time.
